Weeklong

Event: 1776 Challenge Cup

Tuesday

Event: Summer Kick Off Mixer!

Location: Penn Social 801 E St NW, Washington DC Date/Time: Tues. May 12 — from 6PM to 8PM Price: Free

Tech in Motion, a national event series that brings local tech communities together, is hosting its summer mixer, tonight. This event is a casual and fun networking opportunity — happy hour and games included — with more than 200 group members already RSVP’d. According to the event’s meetup. page, there are no planned speakers. This event is open to all guests.

Tech in Motion has over 20,000 event members, nationally.

Event: DCMeetup1507 - Lab Setup (Part 1)

Location: River House Party Room 1111 Army Navy Dr. Arlington VA Date/Time: Tues. May 12 — from 6PM to 9PM Price: Free

Have you ever wanted to learning more about information security? Do you want to discuss the inner workings of cybersecurity and the developer trends surrounding this market hot technology? Information security veteran and analyst Wilfredo Hernandez will lead the discussion as the event’s keynote speaker. Hernandez is a part of the Cover6 Solutions team and an avid blogger for The Cyber Warrior Forum which he has helped develop. This meetup group has more than 1,300 members. Tuesday’s event is both an educational and networking event, where info sec professionals can come to meet one another and discuss their experiences in the industry.

Wednesday

Event: Continuous Delivery for Cross-Platform Mobile Applications

Location: Promontory Interfinancial 1515 North Courthouse Road Arlington VA Date/Time: Wed. May 13 — from 5:30PM to 7:30PM Price: Free

Co-presented by Mobile DC and Continuous Delivery DC, this is a straight up developer-focused event. Attendees will work on creating continuous delivery infrastructure for cross-platform mobile applications during the session and will share their experiences as DevOps. Two speakers will help lead the community project and also speak about the local DevOps community that surrounds the Greater Washington area. Movel Founder Levent Gurses and DevOps engineer at Promontory Financial Ahmed Elsabbahy will lead the event. The night will begin with a half hour of networking.

Event: The Future of Tech in Real Estate

Location: Cooley LLP Suite 700 1299 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW WashingtonDC Date/Time: Wed. May 13 — from 8AM to 10:30AM Price: Free (Registration necessary)

Join 100 other real estate and technology professionals/enthusiasts to learn more about the future of innovative real estate technology. Attendees will learn from a panel of speakers how their companies and technology products are streamlining building management services. The event will include a complimentary breakfast that comes with freshly brewed Brazilian coffee and sesame seed bagels. The speakers leading the discussion come from DTZ, MRP Realty, Aquicore and JLL. The event will begin with a networking session and will move onto a panel discussion. Saturday

Event: DC Science Hack Day 2015

Location: The Wilson Center 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington DC Date/Time: Sat. May 16 and Sun. May 17 — from 9AM to 5PM Price: Free (limited space)

Hosted by Commons Lab of the Wilson Center and ARTSEDGE of the Kennedy Center, this is the first-ever Science Hack Day in the District is a 48-hour-all-night event where attendees will work in teams to create “prototypes.” Commons Lab has a set a series of short lectures to take place in the background of this massive workshop to help inspire attendees. This event provides a collaborative networking opportunity free of charge where attendees can both learn to develop and listen to the perspective of different developers, scientist and entrepreneurs.

“Designers, developers, scientists and anyone who is excited about making things with science are welcome to attend,” the event’s profile page reads.
