Amazon Will Give You $1,000 in Credit For Taking edX Courses

Entrepreneurship

Amazon Web Services will give you $1,000 in credit for completing one of two edX entrepreneurship courses – granted you actually pass with flying colors.

The new partnership between AWS and the massive open online course provider allows you to receive $1,000 in free credit to spend on processor time and/or storage in Amazon’s cloud as long as you earn a verified certificate in either MITx’s Entrepreneurship 101 or 102.

The credits are valid for two years, but that's not all aspiring innovators receive. They also get credit for one day of web-based or instructor-led training (normally around $600 per course) and self-paced labs (normally around $30 per lab). Other bonuses include one month of premium business support from AWS, free access to one-on-one virtual "office hours" with AWS specialists who will help you plan out your app or service and special offers from other startup supporters like Chef, Bitnami, Amazon Payments, SOASTA, Podio and CopperEgg are up for grabs.

Now you're probably asking yourself how you can get ahold of these free offerings. Well, it's simple:

  1. Pass either Entrepreneurship 101 or 102 as a Verified student through edX and you'll receive an email with a code that you can use on the AWS website.
  2. Sign up at AWS with the coupon code provided and then fill out the form edX will email you with your student email address, name and AWS Account number.
  3. AWS will confirm your eligibility and grant you access to your credit within approximately three weeks.

It's a great resource for any up-and-coming entrepreneur looking to start a company and scale a business. You can use your edX course experience and AWS to quickly grow your idea into a full-fledged venture.
