DC Startup Jumps from 'Shark Tank' to 'The View'

D.C. startup Surprise Ride, makers of monthly package of activities for kids will be featured on ABC's The View Friday morning when country music artist Sara Evans shows off the special limited edition version she helped design. Surprise Ride appeared last year on ABC's Shark Tank when founders and sisters Donna and Rosy Khalife pitched the company, which sends a monthly package featuring alternative activities from video games and television to subscribers every month on a different theme.

The Khalife sisters originally came up with the idea for Surprise Ride when they wanted to give their two nephews the kind of fun and creative learning activities that they had had from their artistic father. Friday's episode of The View will have Sara Evans display the surprise box of the month, created in partnership by her, Surprise Ride and Hidden Valley. Evans often talks about the difficulties of being a busy mom, which is one reason she was interested in helping come up with the box of activities. As part of the partnership, Hidden Valley will match the proceeds from sales of the box as well as another $50,000 in donations to the non-profit After-School All-Starts, which provides after-school care and activities for children.

The View comes on at 11 a.m. EDT but if you miss it you can also watch it online.
