Meet the 10 GW Business Plan Competition Finalists

While there are certainly many business plan competitions hosted by universities across the country, George Washington University's Business Plan Competition stands out from the rest. With a whopping $101,000 cash prize up for grabs and $30,000 in additional winnings, the highly competitive contest has no problem attracting innovative entrepreneurs with bright futures.

This year in particular has been a successful one for John Rollins, director of the GW Business Plan Competition, with 113 submissions sent from student-based teams across all 10 schools on campus. After narrowing them down one-by-one, Friday, April 11 will mark the competition finals where 10 business founders will present their plans and ideas to a remarkable panel of reputable entrepreneurs, investors, venture capitalists and GW alums.

New to the 6th annual business competition are two prizes for social entrepreneurship: Best Non-Profit and Best For-Profit Social Venture. It's a change that reflects GW's clear support of entrepreneurial ventures formulating innovative ways to address social and environmental problems.

If you want to watch as the next generation of entrepreneurs take the stage for a GW Business Plan Competition win, make sure to attend the event Friday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with final presentations and awards kicking off at 4 p.m. The affair will take place at the GW School of Business on the sixth (during the morning) and first (during the afternoon) floors of Duques Hall.

Check out the full schedule for what's sure to be a spectacular affair here, and then take a look at the 10 GW Business Plan Competition finalists in the slideshow below. See you there!
