The entrepreneurial itch doesn't always come easy for young college graduates (or dropouts). While they have the skills to start a business on their own, they don't realize that the opportunity to innovate is open to all. More often than not these bright minds need a mentor, a catalyst of some sort to help them see their potential and invigorate a sense of passion for what they were born ready to do: launch their own startup. That's where BUILD Metro DC comes in to play.
The nonprofit organization is on a mission to address the dropout crisis by exciting disengaged students with the use of hands-on entrepreneurship, but it can only do so with your help.
Tonight, Thursday, March 13, BUILD will be hosting its annual fundraising event by the name of "Taste of Entrepreneurship." The reception will highlight 16 BUILD student business teams each selling their own products manufactured in BUILD's startup incubator.
For attendees, there will be an open bar and small tasting plates to snack on from some of D.C.'s best local restauranteurs. Ben's Chili Bowl, Zenful Bites and Eat & Smile Catering will all be present.
