From UVA to Penn State, Hinge Ranks the Hottest Alums in DC

D.C.-based dating app Hinge has swiftly taken over the mobile romance field here in the District, gradually gaining traction since inception earlier this year. Connecting users to potential love matches through their friends-of-friends network on Facebook, Hinge is single-handedly shattering the common misconception that online dating is inherently awkward. But while their strong suit is in the enchanting world of relationships, they've also come to be known for their awesome side project dubbed Hingesights. Basically, they examine their data and report back their findings about the Hinge dating world. This week's focus could not have been more timely as commencement season in full swing with Hinge revealing their ranking of the hottest alumni in D.C.

While Playboy is notorious for their sexy assessments, Hinge claims that they "did the legit, nerd-powered number crunching, and have proof that's straight from the mouths of the people," mainly you and me. Releasing a list of the top 12 colleges with the "most highly appealing alumni in D.C," according to their stats, only two local schools mentioned on the list: University of Virginia and University of Richmond.

It should come as no surprise that UVA made the cut, receiving the No. 10 spot for grooming the most beautiful alums in the District. Of course those who attended UVA are no stranger to being acknowledged for their good looks. BuzzFeed gave UVA the title of one of the sexiest and smartest schools in the country. Her Campus claims the finest male specimen hail from the Charlottesville-based college. And Newsweek and College Prowler called UVA one of America's most beautiful school according to attractiveness of their student population.

University of Richmond also got some love from Hinge, ranked above UVA as No. 8 for their stunning showing in D.C. Previously, Richmond also received a nice nod from Newsweek and College Prowler in their ranking of the most beautiful schools in the U.S.

Hinge then broke down their data even more to figure out which schools have the highest presence of hot females and males in the area. Virginia Tech, The College of William & Mary, University of Richmond, and Towson dominated the list of the most gorgeous female alums residing in D.C. For males, only the U.S. Naval Academy was included.

So what do these findings prove?

Well, that you should be using the Hinge app if you care for a chance encounter with one of these cuties living nearby. Who knows, you could find that mythical "ten" on Hinge today.
