Entreprelooza for America Promises a Strong Third Act

What can I say about the last two Entrepreloozas? We laughed, we cried, we met some of the greatest members of D.C. region's entrepreneur community. They've been enlightening, refreshing, and ultimately surprising, involving discussions about some of the most pivotal problems we face today as a society. Did I forget to mention the bangin' atmosphere and kickass parties? If the last two Entrepreloozas are any indication of what to expect from this Thursday's event, we sure have a lot to look forward to.

Startup DC is joining forces with Venture for America to bring the best and brightest in our D.C. community to the forefront of the conversation revolving around what this city stands for: entrepreneurship and the creation of jobs.

We've all witnessed and endured the economic decline, noticing the lack of employment opportunities available while also keeping an eye on those entrepreneurs gearing up to launch new ventures that will make room for jobs to come. We've noticed the big wigs in D.C. Tech coming together focused on fostering the growth and wealth of the region's innovative businesses, bringing on talented youth with out-of-the-box ideas. As we continue to produce innovative ideas that will surely alter the future of our prevalence in the entrepreneurship world for the better, it's time we celebrate how far we've come.

This is where Entreprelooza comes in, the third edition.

As a way to raise awareness of one of the most revolutionary nonprofits that has quickly risen to fame, steadily growing into a thriving business, Startup DC will be hosting their third Entreprelooza as a way to benefit Venture for America. VFA is revitalizing America's cities through entrepreneurship, giving first hand access to talented college grads who want to become involved in startup companies with amazing potential. With their first cohort starting just this month, a celebration could not be more fitting, especially with their aim to expand to Baltimore in 2013 right around the corner. They share the same goals as Startup DC for cultivating entrepreneurship, focused on developing 100,000 employment opportunities nationwide by 2025, including the D.C. region.

The festivities will be taking place on the awesome rooftop deck above the Willard Hotel. With free beer, wine, and food available as well as the option to purchase liquor on site, this is sure to be an event you don't want to miss out on.

The speakers are the big sellers though, with CEO of VFA Andrew Yang in the house, a man who you most certainly want to have a drink with. Not only has he been personally honored by the White House, but he has also been acknowledged by Fast Company as one of their 100 Most Creative People in Business this year. David Rose, CEO of Gust, one of our country's most successful angel investors, will be shaking hands too, ready to share his best kept secrets about the capital world. Evan Burfield will be in attendance as well, representative of the D.C. stalwarts equipped with enough startup passion to blow your mind.

So come one, come all, celebrate all things startup with some of the most knowledgeable minds around. Mobilize in the name of entrepreneurship and get involved today by making your $25 donation here to be a part this exciting private reception. Companies can also donate $1,000 for ten people's admission to this highly anticipated event. The location is at the Willard Event Center Terrace, 1455 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, #800.

Here are some pictures from the last two Entrepreloozas to get you excited about this Thursday. See you there!
