An Ode to StudyHall on Their Official Launch Day

To kickoff their official launch party, we at ITC figured there was no better way to celebrate than an article outlining the incredible talent hidden in the confines of StudyHall's team. The intellectuals, masters in their fields, have managed to shake up the D.C. Tech scene, making their name known to all. In fact, just the other day I tried this theory out. I wondered how many people in one room knew about StudyHall. The results? Twenty-five out of thirty. Yeah, that's right, StudyHall is conquering the world one meetup at a time. Seriously, one meetup at a time. If you haven't seen the red and grey t-shirts buzzing around the room, networking like it's their job (well, it is), then you are missing out on a great introduction to the coolest thing since string cheese.

For those of you who haven't yet had the chance to learn about StudyHall, let me give you a quick synopsis. "A StudyHall session," according to co-founder and CMO Ben Winter, "is a live video chat with two of your classmates that includes synchronized document capabilities.” Like a whiteboard that is able to track your changes, visible through the video feed by all invited to the session. The smart platform allows you to share content while connecting with classmates, the perfect tool for someone in need of notes or for those partaking in a group project with no time to work on it in person. StudyHall is created for students by students, with Ross Blankenship, co-founder and CEO, and Winter relying on feedback from their spew of college-aged interns in order to better their already transformative startup design. The coolest part about StudyHall? The unique stance they take to only cater to students creates a more trusting space for open collaboration.

Tonight marks their official launch party, hours that will be spent appreciating the impressive technological magic otherwise referred to as StudyHall. There will be booze, snacks, and lots of networking with upbeat chatter about the newest in education tools. They deserve a reprieve from the day in and day out coding regimens and social media blasts, it's time they celebrate their amazing accomplishment.

As an ode to the StudyHall team who I, and the rest of ITC, have grown to love, we are dedicating this article to the men and women behind the scene, developing the next generation academic platform ready to take over the university world.

Ross, I have only met you once, but that one time was enough for me to see just how passionate and excited you are about your product. Not only do you exhibit the very definition of confidence with your tall like stature, your good humor won me over within seconds.

Ben, you make me feel like I should be at a frat party every time I see you. Your intense ability to focus on your work while others around you are creating a Call Me Maybe video shows me how intent you are on creating a brilliantly constructed platform.

Kelsey, you are like the marketing maven of the east. It's evident that you will stop at nothing to get that business card, make that connection that will further your startup's success.

Welles, I was immediately astounded by your intellect as you sat nearby completely consumed by your work. When you spoke, your explanations were succinct and easy to understand, a pitch that not many startups can claim they have mastered.

Robert, you are like the best friend everyone wishes they had with your upbeat attitude and ability to make all of those around you laugh to the point of crying (I speak from experience). Your clear understanding of the developing process speaks to just how valuable of an asset you are.

Those outlined above are only a portion of the stellar team, so I look forward to meeting the rest of them tonight and toast to their official launch. Congratulations, guys, this is a day you will always remember.
