Ready to Chain Smoke and Blast Martinis? Come to Entreprelooza Mad Men Event Tomorrow Night

Startup DC is back at it with their newest and grandest of all Entrepreloozas. Along with the help of the trusty Ladies DC, Startup DC is bringing together the big wigs of the tech entrepreneur field for a martini mixer to support the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). If you don't know about NFTE already, get yourself acquainted with them. They are truly an extraordinary nonprofit that go leaps and bounds beyond their duties, ensuring that students everywhere feel empowered, providing them with the confidence and skills to become the future of our entrepreneur world.

Not only does this event aim to sell tickets for proceeds benefitting the NFTE DC Dare to Dream Gala being held on May 2nd, but it is also themed. Here's a hint: "They say as soon as you have to cut down on your drinking, you have a drinking problem." Yes, ladies and gentleman, Don Draper is making an appearance at some point during this illustrious night. Well, not really, but you do get to dress up like him, as him, or a Trudy look-a-like. Rest assured, I plan on taking too many pictures to try to portray the vast array of outfits partygoers are decked out in to represent the theme, "Mad Men, Mod Women."

Mark Drapeau, the man behind the idea for Entreprelooza and a success story himself, revealed to me the 5 things you should know before attending Entreprelooza:

  1. New startups are like tiny experiments, exploring the edges of what we know. Many of them fail, but that's how innovation works.
  2. New startups, whether they are companies, nonprofits, or even hobbies, are where a lot of the new ideas will come from, and that's what will reboot America's institutions.
  3. Governments and communities can create a better environment that empowers and encourages people to start something new.
  4. Startup DC wants to help people who want to start something new to connect with the right kinds of people they don't know, whether that's a businessperson, a technical expert, or an investor, and we're creating tools and events to make that happen in a meaningful way.
  5. Do Entreprelooza. Or do not. There is no try.

See you all tomorrow night from 7-10pm at the L2 Lounge for a night to remember. To purchase a ticket or donate to the NFTE cause, head over to this site.
