Let the games begin.

DC Inno is now accepting nominations for Inno Madness, our annual bracket competition designed to generate awareness of Greater Washington's startup ecosystem — and the people and companies that are driving it forward.

How does Inno Madness work? It's easy. We're building a bracket — and we want your input.

Here's how you can take part: Nominate a local startup. We’re looking for private startups and tech-enabled companies based in the D.C. region. The DC Inno team will assemble brackets using the input you provide, and we'll share the resulting bracket match-ups in early March.

At that point, companies will go head-to-head throughout subsequent rounds of voting with you, our readers, determining who moves on from every match-up. At the end of all the match-ups after the weekly rounds of voting, we'll announce our Inno Madness winner.

This is the ninth year for our Madness competition. Last year, Rose Health, the mental health platform that helps doctors bring mental health care to patients and one of our 2021 Startups to Watch, took home the top honors, outlasting medical device startup OxiWear, which is developing a blood-oxygen-level monitor.

Previous winners were kidney care startup Somatus (2021), food truck discovery startup Goodfynd (2020), real estate tech company Homesnap (2019), event planning startup Styckie (2018), online e-learning platform EverFi (2017), restaurant savings and discovery app Spotluck (2016) and customer management software startup Contactually (2015).

Nominations can be submitted here.

But don't wait! The nomination period for Inno Madness ends on Feb. 26.
