Arlington tech startup DivvyCloud is preparing to grow in a hurry.
The company, a provider of security and compliance automation technology, today announced the opening of its new headquarters in the Court House neighborhood. The upgraded office space was acquired in anticipation of DivvyCloud doubling its employee headcount over the next year.
“DivvyCloud was born and raised in Arlington, and we are thrilled to continue our growth trajectory in this county,” co-founder and CEO Brian Johnson said in a statement. “Our new headquarters is in an ideal location, allowing us to tap into one of the most diverse groups of highly skilled, entrepreneurial talent pools in the nation as we expand our workforce.”
DivvyCloud’s digs at 2111 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington now span 13,000 square feet, a massive boost from its former 2,000-square-foot office in Rosslyn. It moved into that building at the beginning of 2018 with 20 employees, and has since grown to 55 local staffers with plans to reach at least 120 employees by the end of 2020.
DivvyCloud was co-founded by Johnson and Chris DeRamus, CTO, who both live in Virginia. It has raised $29 million in venture capital since launching in 2013, including a $19 million round in May this year led by Providence Strategic Growth.
The company says it doubled its customer base over the last year, including the addition of marquee customers Kroger, CoStar and Pizza Hut. Additional customers include 3M, Fannie Mae, Discovery Communications, GE, Twilio and Autodesk.
“As a company dedicated to innovation, we are especially eager to hire more engineers to help expand our product portfolio and deliver even more value to our customers,” DeRamus said in a statement. “We will also look to expand our customer success, sales and marketing teams to support growing market demand.”
