High-end coworking space operator Mixer Work & Lounge has selected the nation’s capital to host its first U.S. location.

Mixer RowHouse, the company’s D.C. venue, will include its mix of amenities focused on not just work, but also technology, food, wellness, art, design, sports and leisure.

It will move into a combination structure of a historical preserved row house and a modern trophy building at 600 Massachusetts Ave., one block away from the city center and Gallery Place.

Mixer RowHouse will feature a rooftop garden with indoor and outdoor lounges and workspaces, a fitness facility, meeting rooms, a conference center, on-site restaurants and fully equipped kitchens, 300-plus parking spaces and bike storage. Membership includes 24/7 building access, and the location will also host a members-only "VIP Lounge" inside the row house.

“Careful consideration went into selecting our first U.S. location and we kept coming back to Washington, D.C.," co-founder and CEO Omer Granit said in a statement. "This city is the nucleus of America with a tremendous amount of energy, influence and culture, and we’re thrilled to bring Mixer to this vibrant community.”

Mixer says its four locations – the other three are in Israel – incorporate first-class working conditions, optimal travel routes, modern architecture and thoughtful design. Members have access to open spaces, lounges, outdoor nooks and several amenities and events.

“We design our facilities to be communities – not coworking spaces – characterized by creativity, innovation and a disruption of the traditional way of doing business," Granit said.

The first Mixer site opened in Tel Aviv in 2016. To help fund the expansion, it recently received more than $40 million in funding from an investor group led by British entrepreneur Howard Shore, who is now chairman of its board.

The 30,000-square-foot Mixer RowHouse is expected to open in early 2020. Check out photos of the new space below.
