As Social Tables eyes its next phase of growth, the events and hospitality tech company has brought on a new executive to round out its top leadership.

John Hannula is joining the startup as its first chief revenue officer, overseeing new sales, customer retention and all other company revenue matters. Most recently, Hannula was the vice president of business development at Frontpoint in Vienna, Virginia.

"After an extensive search, we've found a great partner in John," said Social Tables CEO Dan Berger in a statement. "I'm thrilled about the experience he will be adding to the team and know that his impact will be exponential as we continue to scale our current operations and expand into new ones."

Hannula spent eight years at Frontpoint, between his position as VP of business development and his first role as the vice president of sales. Through those roles, he was responsible for maintaining existing customer relationships and driving growth through various marketing campaigns. During his tenure, he also implemented the company's first sales strategy and led its operational implementation, scaling the sales team from 7 to 180 people.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Hannula is also a partner with NextGen Venture Partners, which was acquired by Brown Advisory in February. And his experience expands into multiple D.C. area companies, including Simplexity and Nextel Communications. Hannula also holds an MBA from Georgetown University.

"I couldn't be happier coming on board at Social Tables," Hannula said in a statement. "The ingredients for rapid and continued growth are already here in the team, product and vision. Now, it's time to work together to collectively bring that vision to life."
