Amazon, IBM and Booz Allen Hamilton are among the firms that posted the most tech job listings in the D.C. metro area in 2017, a new report from Indeed shows.
Job listing site Indeed released a report today showing the companies with the highest share of tech job listings in the region, along with which job titles were most in demand, the most in-demand tech skills and the roles that came with the highest salaries.
Software engineers are most in-demand in the D.C. metro area. The position made up 12.2 percent of all tech listings in 2017, with the second most in-demand job being Java developers at 4.74 percent.
With that, the position agile coach had the highest paying average salary at $190,821, and the second highest salary was for the position of development operations manager at $146,352.
In the job listings, Indeed spotted that the most wanted skills by employers are Java, agile, JavaScript and Oracle, in that order.
Among the companies with the most share of tech job postings in the D.C. metro area are Leidos, Capital One, CSRA and Lockheed Martin.
