WeWork Opening Two New D.C. Locations This Summer

Looks like WeWork's footprint in D.C. is growing this summer.

The co-working space announced it would be opening two new locations: WeWork Apollo on H Street and WeWork 80 M Street in Navy Yard. WeWork's H Street location will open in July, and Navy Yard in August.

"WeWork is a platform for all types of creators—from freelancers and entrepreneurs to small businesses and Fortune 500 companies—and we look forward to providing the space, community and services that our members in the H Street Corridor and Navy Yard need to make a life, not just a living," said WeWork D.C.'s Director of Community Kley Sippel in a statement to DC Inno.

With these two new locations, that brings WeWork's total locations up to 10 in the D.C. metro area. In May 2016, WeWork opened its K Street location.

The launches come as WeWork continues to double down on supporting area creatives, as well. In March, they hosted the first iteration of the Creator Awards, awarding more than $1.5 million to 25 entrepreneurs in the Mid-Atlantic region. Notably, D.C. nonprofit ByteBack walked away with a $360,000 grant that will help them expand to Maryland.

WeWork's expansion also comes as more co-working spaces grow and adapt their footprint in the D.C. metro area. Logan Exchange opened its doors in Logan Circle in February, while New York's The Wing, an all-women co-working space, announced it has plans to open a location in D.C.
