Warby Parker, the eyeglass company known for its low-cost, fashionable frames, will open the doors to its newest location in Bethesda on Saturday.
Located at 4821 Bethesda Ave., the shop joins the growing collection of Warby Parker shops in the D.C. metro area. The first store opened in Georgetown in September 2015. Eventually, the locations in Shaw and Tysons Corner, Va. followed suit. Bethesda's shop will be the second in Maryland, with a store already open in Baltimore.
"Our team is excited to open another location in Maryland. We've come to consider the DMV area a home away from home," said Dave Gilboa, Warby Parker co-CEO and co-founder, in a statement to DC Inno. "Warby Parker already has more than 50 team members across our stores in D.C., Virginia and Maryland and will onboard eight more with the opening of our Bethesda location."
"Bethesda is the perfect spot for us as we continue to connect with the community even further."
When the Bethesda shop opens, Warby Parker will offer a new frame exclusive to the new location: Durand in Striped Sassafras with Flash Mirrored Pacific Blue Lenses.
The new store is designed to emulate a library, with suspended globe lighting, marble-topped tables, colorful book display and comfy leather seating.
