4 Area Universities Named 'Most Innovative' By US News & World Report



US News & World Report released its annual list of college rankings Tuesday. In addition to the overall rankings of National Universities and National Liberal Arts Colleges, the publication surveyed top academics to compile a list of the nation's 'Most Innovative Schools.'

According to the report, "college presidents, provosts and admissions deans were asked to nominate up to 10 colleges or universities in their U.S. News Best Colleges ranking category that are making the most innovative improvements in terms of curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology or facilities."

Four DC/MD/VA schools made the list of the twenty five most innovative national universities:

#5 - University of Maryland - Baltimore County

#14 - George Mason University

#25 - University of Maryland - College Park

#25 - University of Virginia
