Here are all of the tech funding deals out of the Washington, D.C., area this week. These are tech companies that have attracted investment and are keen to grow. We’ll be updating this post as more news comes out this week.

Friday, April 29

VividCortex (Charlottesville, Va.)

  • Deal: raised $4.5M equity round, announced by co.
  • Investors: New Enterprise Associates (NEA) led the round, with participation from previous investors including Battery Ventures and Jaffray Woodriff
  • What they do: database performance monitoring company -- "By enabling IT organizations to see the big picture when it comes to data performance, VividCortex is solving a problem that has plagued enterprises for over a decade,” said Harry Weller, a General Partner at NEA, in a statement.
  • Other details: delivered as software-as-a-service, VividCortex helps decrease datacenter costs

Wednesday, April 27

Vidsys (Vienna, Va.)

  • Deal: raised $11M equity round, based on an SEC filing and announced publicly on Tuesday
  • Investors: Harmony Partners
  • What they do: enterprise security and information management software
  • Other details (via BusinessWire): "The investment will also be used for the expansion of the company’s Internet of Things (IoT) and virtualized services platform applications for smart and future cities, intelligent transportation, and advanced business intelligence solutions."

UrbanStems (Washington, DC)

  • Deal: raised $6.8M equity round, as reported by DC Inno
  • Investors: round led by SWaN & Legend Venture Partners. Other investors in the round include Middleland Capital, NextGen Venture Partners, Interplay Ventures, and Sagamore Ventures.
  • What they do: flowery delivery and product marketplace

Ryft Systems (Rockville, Md.)

  • Deal: raised $4.9M from a total $15M equity raise, according to an SEC filing
  • Investors: undisclosed
  • What they do: internet hardware/servers that can help improve "query performance by up to 600 times"
  • Other details: big data search and the Internet of Things (IoT) software + hardware

Monday, April 25

ZeniMax Media (Rockville, Md.)

  • Deal: raised $5.7M equity round, according to an SEC filing
  • Investors: undisclosed
  • What they do: video game (software) publisher and studio
  • Other details: known for the Fallout video game series in addition to other big name titles like The Elder Scrolls games

Spotluck (Bethesda, Md.)

  • Deal: raised a $2M debt round, according to an SEC filing
  • Investors: undisclosed
  • What they do: mobile app used to help restaurant market promotions and for customers to find meal deals
  • Other details: winners of DC Inno's Tech Madness 2016 competition

Wireless Registry (Washington, D.C.)

  • Deal: raised $395K equity round, according to an SEC filing
  • Investors: undisclosed
  • What they do: Internet of Things (IoT) analytics startup
