Here are all of the tech funding deals out of the Washington, D.C., area this week. These are companies that have attracted investment and are keen to grow. We’ll be updating this post as more news comes out this week.

Catalyst DevWorks (Baltimore, Md.)

  • Deal: raised $11.5M from private investors, company announced 
  • Investors: Salem Investment Partners
  • What they do: predictive analytics to assemble teams of software engineers
  • Other details: "the investment will further accelerate Catalyst’s growth. A pioneer in the use of data and predictive analytics to improve the productivity of outsourced software engineering teams, Catalyst grew revenue 87 percent in 2015, with 75 percent of its revenue coming from Fortune 500 companies," a company press release reads.

emocha Mobile Health Inc. (Baltimore, Md.)

  • Deal: raised $320K from a total $750K offering, according to an SEC filing
  • Investors: undisclosed
  • What they do: mobile health platform
  • Other details: "emocha was created by medical experts at Johns Hopkins University Center for Clinical Global Health Education in 2008 to train healthcare workers fighting HIV in Uganda. Since then, emocha has worked with local, state, and federal governments, NGOs, and research institutions in the USA and abroad to link patients to care and improve adherence," the company's LinkedIn profile reads.

Avalon Cyber Corp. (Alexandria, Va.)

  • Deal: raised $1.45M from a total $2M equity offering, according to an SEC filing 
  • Investors: undisclosed
  • What they do: unknown
  • Other details: looks to be a newly launched company

Woofound (Baltimore, Md.)

  • Deal: debt raise currently totaling $327K, according to an SEC filing
  • Investors: undisclosed
  • What they do: visual personality assessment

Monday, March 7

3CLogic (Rockville, Md.) 

  • Deal: have raised $1.2M from investors as part of a total $3M equity offering, according to an SEC filing 
  • Investors: undisclosed
  • What they do: cloud software made for customer call centers, include integration into voice, chat and social media
  • Other details: founded in 2005, 3CLogic says that it "provides businesses with a 360 degree view of all customer interactions regardless of the channel chosen by their customers."

Greenspring Associates (Owing Mills, Md.) 

  • Deal: according to an SEC filing for Greenspring GE IV, LP, the local fund-of-funds venture capital firm has raised $9.1M
  • Investors: undisclosed
  • What they do: an institutional private equity investment firm, with offices in Maryland and Silicon Valley, that invests in VC firms, tech and energy companies.
  • Other details: big backer of Cvent (CVT), a quickly growing cloud software event management company. In November, Greenspring announced it had raised a $430M fund, its 7th since being founded in 2000.
