Metropolitan Airports Commission names information security chief

The Metropolitan Airports Commission, the group that manages the Twin Cities' commercial airports, has named Curt Rebelein its new chief information security officer.

Rebelein will manage security of networks, privacy issues and regulatory compliance for MAC, which operates Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and six other reliever airports in the Twin Cities.

Rebelein served as chief information security officer at Minneapolis-based Provation, a medical software company, before coming to MAC. Prior to that, he was director of product security for Perforce Software, also based in Minneapolis.

His career also includes information security roles at companies including Target Corp., Medtronic, UnitedHealth Group and Qwest Communications.

He holds numerous professional certifications related to information systems, cloud security, information systems auditing and risk and information systems control. At the University of Minnesota-Duluth, he studied computer science, mathematics and physics. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in cybersecurity and information assurance.

Rebelein currently serves as the Director of the Board for the Forest Lake Area School District.
