A Maple Plain-based medical device company was one of 65 startups named to the 2024 cohort of the world's largest accelerator, MedTech Innovator.
Paxos Medical Inc., which develops an implantable neuromodulation system for pelvic health disorders, will participate in the four-month program. Around 1,300 medical device, diagnostic and digital health startups worldwide applied. The 2024 cohort represents companies from 14 U.S. states and 16 countries.
"Since launching MedTech Innovator, our more than 600 graduates have received 310 FDA approvals and clearances and secured $8 billion in follow-on funding,” said Paul Grand, CEO and founder of MedTech Innovator, in a statement. “Having evaluated thousands of applicants since November, I can tell you definitively that the 2024 MedTech Innovator Cohort represents the best emerging startups around the globe."
The program begins with an Innovator Summit June 12-13 and ends with the MedTech Conference Oct. 14-17. The cohort will compete at two conferences for $800,000 in non-dilutive funding. The MedTech Innovator early-stage finals competition is on Oct. 16, and the mid-stage companies will participate in a finals competition Nov. 19-21.
Last year, three Minnesota-based medical startups were chosen to participate in the accelerator—Adcura, InterShunt Technologies and NXgen Port.
