Minneapolis co-working company Coco has appointed Colleen Moselle as its new CEO.
Moselle assumed leadership of Coco on Sept. 1 after serving as president and chief operating officer for the past four years, the company announced.
The company, founded in 2009 as Coco, rebranded in 2018 to Fueled Collective —and then back to Coco again earlier this spring. Coco operates two coworking space locations in Minneapolis, one downtown and the other in Northeast. According to a news release, Moselle will have oversight over both locations as well as leading expansion efforts.
The CEO transition comes as a part of a three-year plan, the company said. It will free up Coco’s previous CEO and co-founder, Kyle Coolbroth, to pursue other business pursuits. While continuing his roles as owner and board chair of Coco, Coolbroth plans to spend more time focusing on his executive coaching business. Coolbroth said in the news release that the transition would be “bittersweet” if he didn’t have complete confidence in Moselle’s expertise and leadership.
“Colleen led us through the pandemic, social unrest and a significant shift in work preferences. Not only does she know when and how to pivot, she has the innate ability to manage the day-to-day while simultaneously creating and driving towards a vision for the future,” said Coolbroth. “She is deeply connected in the co-working space industry and laser-focused on member success."
Before joining Coco, Moselle spent her early career with the U.S. Navy for seven years after graduating from the U.S Naval Academy. Afterwards, she became a medical sales consultant and then a division president for a fire protection company.
“I know these are big shoes to fill,” Moselle said in the statement. “Kyle and Don co-founded a revolutionary way to work 14 years ago. Not only were they ahead of their time, they built an endurable foundation that has stood the test of time and become a standout in workplace innovation for companies who need or want to elevate their workplace culture and space.”
