Minnesota’s premiere tech show-and-tell event has announced the lineup for its upcoming exhibition.

Minnestar is hosting its 38th Minnedemo, where presenters will get on the stage at Amsterdam Bar & Hall in St. Paul to showcase their Minnesota-made technology on Thursday from 6 to 10:30 p.m. The seven presenters have seven minutes each to show off their passion projects and businesses with no slides allowed.

“We’re really excited about some of the groups presenting at this week’s Minnedemo, especially those in the area of generative AI, LLMs and prompt management,” Jenna Pederson, board chair of Minnestar, said in an emailed statement. “We know these are hot topics in our community right now and can’t wait to see and celebrate what these folks have been working on.”

Thursday’s event will also include the introduction of Minnestar’s new executive director – “so local techies won’t want to miss [it],” Pederson said.

Minnedemo started in 2006 and brought together about 100 people. It’s grown since then, bringing hundreds of attendees and occurring a few times a year. Some notable tech companies that have presented at Minnedemo in the past include CrashPlan, Flip (formerly Flipgrid) and Civic Eagle.

The presenters for Thursday’s show include:

  • SALI alliance – a large language model to help the legal industry speak the same data language
  • Verdethos – a supply chain platform that aims to create sustainable global connections
  • Microgen – an open-source visual site builder for designers and developers
  • Touch Harp – allows a person to play an electronic guitar and wind instrument using artificial intelligence
  • DemoHop – a platform to hold engaging video call events that break the monotony
  • Algo Targets – a trading view indicator that uses a prediction model for stock prices, built on the theory that stocks are algorithmically controlled
  • Izlo – unlocks prompts for AI that are trapped in code, documents and spreadsheets
