Minneapolis energy-consulting company Sagiliti has been named to Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AAPL) second Impact Accelerator business development program.
The Impact Accelerator program gives training and mentorship to 16 minority-owned businesses in the fields of green technology and clean energy in a three-month program. Sagiliti, which has an operations facility in Excelsior and a recently opened headquarters in Minneapolis, is the only Minnesota company among the program's selected participants.
You can see the full list of companies at Apple's website.
Sagiliti, previously known as JIT Services Inc., provides sustainability consulting, billing and utility program services.
It's led by CEO Ravi Norman, who oversaw the company's switch to a new name and move into a North Loop office space this summer. Norman took over as CEO in mid-2019 after his holding company, NGE Holdings, bought majority ownership.
Doug Baker Jr., former CEO of Ecolab Inc., bought a 20% ownership stake in Sagiliti in March last year, and the company shares its North Loop office with E2SG Partners, a green technology investment firm Baker launched after leaving Ecolab in February.
The companies in the Apple accelerator will be considered for business opportunities to help the Cupertino, Calif.-based tech giant reach carbon neutrality across its supply chain. (Apple's corporate operations have been carbon neutral since 2020.)
Minneapolis-based Inspectorio, a supply chain solutions firm co-founded by Carlos Moncayo and David Klein, was one of the 15 companies in the first Apple Impact Accelerator program last fall.
