Gener8tor's gBETA St. Thomas startup accelerator program, based in St. Paul, recently announced the five members of its summer 2022 cohort:
- Axon Athletics: A training platform that uses artificial intelligence to find mental disfunction in student athletes while also improving mental performance
- Drvn: An app that gives rideshare drivers the tools to plan their days effectively and adapt to rider demand in real time
- COYABLU: A company that creates ready-to-drink craft tequila cocktails
- Virontir: A platform that enables better testing of web applications through metrics, management and security for quality assurance
- Jay Victoria: A lifestyle apparel brand that creates clothing for plus-size women and nonbinary people
Each of the Minneapolis-based companies that were chosen for the cohort have at least one founder who was a graduate of the University of St. Thomas. The members, selected out of an applicant pool of more than 30 companies, are participating in the free, seven-week program where they meet mentors, gain traction and pitch their ideas to investors, according to an announcement made last week.
This year's program, supported through a partnership with the university’s Schulze School of Entrepreneurship, began last month and will run through early September, concluding with the Gener8tor showcase Sept. 20.
Madison, Wis.-based Gener8tor, a venture capital fund and startup accelerator network, runs the gBETA program several times throughout the year in markets across the U.S. The program with St. Thomas began in 2019.
“gBETA St. Thomas is an impactful program available to St. Thomas students and alumni, and we are very proud of this year’s cohort participants,” Sheneeta White, associate dean of the Schulze School of Entrepreneurship, said in the press release. “The learning, mentoring and connections made will propel each of these startups forward and open greater doors of opportunities for them.”
