Evoqua Water Technologies is buying Smith Engineering Inc., a deal that will enhance its water treatment capabilities and extend its footprint.
Terms weren’t disclosed. The transaction is expected to close by the end of September, fourth quarter of Pittsburgh-based Evoqua’s 2022 fiscal year.
Smith, based in Chaska, Minnesota, designs, manufactures and services custom high-purity water treatment equipment. The privately held company has more than 1,200 customers in multiple industry sectors including biotech/pharmaceutical, food and beverage and health care.
"Smith Engineering has built a solid reputation as a trusted partner, providing reliable high-purity water solutions and services to their broad customer portfolio," Ron Keating, Evoqua CEO, said in a prepared statement. "This addition will further strengthen our service footprint in North America, enabling us to better serve our customers."
Upon closing the transaction, the business will be part of Evoqua's integrated solutions and services segment.
Evoqua Water Technologies Corp.
