Roberta Dressen was named president and CEO of the Medical Alley Association.

The Medical Alley Association (MAA) announced Friday it appointed Roberta Dressen as its new president and CEO.

Dressen will replace Steffen Hovard, who has been serving as interim CEO since of the Golden Valley-based non-profit advocacy group since March. MAA's last permanent CEO was Shaye Mandle, who led the organization beginning in 2014.

“MAA’s board of directors is excited to begin working with Roberta Dressen,” said Jim Rogers, Medical Alley Board Chair and Chief Business Development Officer at Mayo Clinic. “Her experience will help MAA continue to be one of the most influential healthcare organizations in the world.”

Dressen has almost two decades of leadership experience with Medical Alley organizations including Allina Health System, UnitedHealth Group Inc., Boston Scientific Corp. and Medtronic. She's currently an operating partner at LFE Capital, a Wayzata-based private equity firm investing in women-led wellness companies.

“The Medical Alley Association has a strong reputation of leadership and innovation,” Dressen said in a statement. “I look forward to joining MAA and partnering with other global health care leaders to find ways to better serve our members and stimulate collaboration around how we can bridge current gaps in the health care industry.”
