Mitch Coopet, the co-founder and former CTO of Minneapolis tech company Code42, has joined local startup Branch as the company's new CTO.
In his role, Coopet will lead the company's product and engineering teams, while helping scale the organization as a whole.
"We've hit a new trajectory where bringing on a CTO like Mitch, who's successfully spearheaded various stages of growth, will help us navigate and continue our momentum," Branch spokesperson Adrianne Ho told Minne Inno in an email.
Prior to joining Branch, Coopet was the CEO of Rambl (formerly known as Aftercode), a startup that used artificial intelligence to analyze the content and information of sales calls. Rambl shut down earlier this year. The company had raised at least $2.1 million in funding, according to SEC filings. Neither Branch nor Rambl could immediately be reached for comment regarding Rambl's closure.
Minneapolis-based Branch offers an app that helps hourly workers manage their schedules and get ahead financially. Last year, the company launched Pay, a suite of features on its app to help hourly workers forecast and advance their pay. The platform was recognized at the SXSW Innovation Awards. Branch's service is used by a handful of Fortune 500 companies, including Target, CVS Pharmacy and Taco Bell.
"Mitch is an accomplished engineer and entrepreneur who's been able to align teams to deliver market-winning products," Branch CEO Atif Siddiqi said in a statement. "He shares a passion for solving meaningful market problems, so we're excited to bring his leadership and energy to Branch."
