Forbes' annual 30 Under 30 list recognizes everyone from entrepreneurs to bartenders, and this year, more than a half-dozen Minnesotans found their way into the rankings.
The name "30 Under 30" is a bit of a misnomer. Forbes selects 30 honorees in each category, but there are more than 600 slots. Still, everyone on the list boasts a long list of accomplishments. It would be difficult to trim it down.
Here are this year's Minnesota honorees:
Isabel and Caroline Bercaw | 17 & 16 | Da Bomb
Sister entrepreneurs Isabel and Caroline were just 10 and 11 years old when they founded Da Bomb in 2012. What started as a pastime quickly turned into a prosperous business. The company that they started now employs 150 people, produces 650,000 bath bombs per month and reported more than $10 million in annual revenue last year. The girls were also recognized on Minne Inno's 25 Under 25 list.
Brian Keller and Zachary Quinn | 25 & 26 | Love Your Melon
Love Your Melon co-founders Brian Keller and Zachary Quinn turned a 2012 college entrepreneurship class project into one of Inc.'s fastest-growing companies, reporting $31.5 million in 2017 revenue while donating 50 percent of its profits to the fight against pediatric cancer. Keller and Quinn were recognized in the Social Entrepreneurs section of Forbes' 30 Under 30 List.
Marco Zappia | 26 | Martina's
Marco Zappia is the brains behind the bar at Martina's – a relatively new and extremely popular restaurant in Linden Hills. He was also previously a partner at bar-consultancy Bittercube. MSP Mag says that his ambition is to "smash the tyranny of branded drinks, and explore the far reaches of what a cocktail can be."
Jocelyne Lamoreaux-Davidson and Monique Lamoreaux-Morando | 29 | USA Hockey
The twin sisters from Faribault played for the University of Minnesota before joining Team USA Hockey, which won the gold medal at the Olympics earlier this year.
Abigail Harrison | 21 | Mars Generation
Abigail Harrison and her mother co-founded The Mars Generation in 2015 to advance public interest in human space exploration. Although the organization is just three years old, it already has industry heavyweights behind it. The board of directors and advisory board include former astronauts and representatives from Orbital ATK and Boeing.
