Herself Health, a St. Paul-based health care provider startup, plans to add at least two new clinics in the Twin Cities after closing on $26 million in funding, the company said Monday.

The company, which focuses on providing care to women over 65, was launched last year by Kristen Helton, who previously led Amazon Care, the e-commerce giant's (now shuttered) in-house health care program for employees.

Herself Health raised $7 million in seed funding early this year and shortly after opened one clinic in the Highland Park neighborhood of Saint Paul.

The latest round brings its funding total of $33 million, with New York-based investment firm Accretive serving as the lead investor. New York-based investment firm Juxtapose, which led the previous round, also participated in the new financing.

With the additional capital, Herself Health is planning at least two more clinics, depending on patient demand, in the coming 18 months. The company is also considering one new market outside the Twin Cities in 2024.

The first of the two new clinics is planned to open in Crystal at 5200 Douglas Dr North, in September. The second will be located in Minneapolis at 5450 Lyndale Avenue South and is scheduled to open sometime in 2024.

Herself Health is also using the funding to expand its workforce, virtual care and community engagement offerings.

Herself Health's services include a variety of health and wellness issues, such as mobility, social isolation, mental health, bone health, heart health, and brain health.

“Our fundamental goal is to elevate the patient experience and provide meaningful in-person and virtual support that provides women 65+ with a primary care experience designed specifically for them,” Helton said in a statement.

“In the few months since our launch, the incredible interest from patients clearly demonstrates that this model was desperately needed."
