Transfur Inc. has closed a pre-seed round of funding with an investment from Madison, Wisconsin-based WARF Ventures.
Transfur, a Minneapolis-based software company, said the funding will allow it to complete beta testing on the way to launching its first product, aimed at veterinarians.
The company's platform uses artificial intelligence to extract clinically relevant information from vet medical records. The software will reduce the non-billable hours veterinarians spend reviewing records, the company said.
“Closing our pre-seed round with funding from WARF Ventures is the latest milestone on our journey to shift the paradigm for how veterinary medical records are reviewed and managed,” said Transfur CEO Scott Brown. “I’m thrilled for Transfur to join a portfolio that has such a wide-ranging impact and track record for success.”
Wisconsin Area Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) provides seed and growth funding to early-stage startups that are commercializing University of Wisconsin-Madison technologies.
