Two of Greensboro’s foremost entrepreneurship support organizations are joining forces. Launch Greensboro, an initiative of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, and co-work space provider Transform GSO are collaborating to increase support and services for area start-ups.

Formerly Greensboro HQ, Transform GSO is expanding into the Old Greensborough Gateway Center at South Elm and Bain streets. Both Transform GSO and the Gateway building are owned by AZ Development, led by developer Andy Zimmerman.

Transform GSO currently occupies 11,000 square feet on West Lewis Street, where it launched in 2015. With its expansion into the Gateway Center next door, it will add another 30,000 square feet of flexible office, meeting and events space.

In January, Triad Business Journal first reported Zimmerman's plans to expand the rebranded Transform GSO into a portion of the 45,000 square feet of unoccupied space in the Gateway Center. Centric Brands occupies approximately half of the building. In addition to co-work space, Zimmerman plans about 10,000 square feet of event space in the wing of the building along Bain Street and office suites on the first floor.

The building has also recently been included in the National Register of Historic Places.

“As an entrepreneur myself I have a soft spot for those who have a dream and want to go after it. This partnership puts all the pieces together,” Zimmerman said. “The Gateway building combined with the fabulous programming and support from Launch Greensboro, it’s a big day for entrepreneurs and for downtown Greensboro.”

In this new collaborative environment, Launch Greensboro brings its operational and programming expertise. The partnership creates a dynamic opportunity for the area’s early-stage and growing entrepreneurs who will find inspiring, well-equipped office space, a network of like-minded entrepreneurs and proven programs offered by Launch Greensboro.

“The Greensboro Chamber and Launch Greensboro are thrilled to partner with Transform GSO,” said Greensboro Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Brent Christensen. “In 2020, we worked with more than 340 companies and 370 individuals through Launch Greensboro’s programming and can’t think of a better partnership to help us expand our reach than Transform GSO.”
