Solutions Afoot custom develops applications and databases for its clients using software builder Caspio. The software startup’s goal is to put its clients at the forefront of its work, bringing them into every step of the process so that the software and applications are easy to understand and use – whether the client will use it for their own business operations or sell the software. Its clients even have access to Solution Afoot’s project management to see the status of their development.

Founded in 2017 by CEO Josh Schuminsky, Solutions Afoot has three full-time employees and six contracted developers. Within recent weeks, the startup had added three contracted developers and expects to hire two additional developers within the next month based on clients' needs and projects Solutions Afoot is onboarding.

While industry-agnostic, Solutions Afoot has worked with a lot of clients in the health care and professional services industries. For example, it worked on a portal between merchant marine ships and onshore doctors to diagnose sailors from afar and created a customer relation management (CRM) system for a home health care business in California. Schuminsky said the company also recently landed a project with a virtual health care company in Florida.

Solution Afoot’s software has also had a far reach – users of its clients’ applications and databases include Disney, Sephora, McDonald’s and Coca-Cola.

The startup has gone with a relatively traditional method when it comes to money. Solutions Afoot has not sought any venture capital or funding, instead growing organically through its contracts. Schuminsky declined to disclose revenues but said the company was in the green.

Solutions Afoot also operates a standalone CRM product offering, called Sherlock CRM, which recently launched its beta run. Sherlock CRM allows clients to see every aspect of their business in one sphere.
