These are the partnerships and promotions that dominated Tampa Bay's September

As Q3 came to a close, Tampa Bay companies, organizations and entities made more moves than ever when it came to their personnel.

We've rounded up all the partnerships, promotions and acquisitions that occurred in the last month below.

• Tampa based technology firm Vendita Inc. hired a new chief revenue officer. The company announced September 1 Dan Heckerman was hired for the role, previously serving as CRO for Canadian-based Agdata. He's also worked at Microsoft.

Zone Defense LLC, a St. Petersburg tech company, was acquired by Michigan-based Pro-Vision Solutions for an unknown amount. Zone Defense is an electronic manufacturer with a focus on the automotive and fleet industries. Pro-Vision is a portfolio company of Boston-based JMC Capital Partners. James Markus, CEO of Zone Defense, will now be the head of commercial solutions for Pro-Vision. 

• Canadian company CodeBoxx announced it is planning to move its HQ to the Tampa Bay region after looking at more than a dozen cities. The company, which provides a 16-week coding bootcamp, states it will complete the move in 2021. Get the full story here.

Phonism, a Tampa technology startup with a focus on the communication industry, has partnered with Ribbon Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: RBBN) in a deal for an undisclosed amount. Learn more about the deal here.

Lumina Analytics, a Tampa-based tech firm, partnered with industry giant IBM (NYSE: IBM). Get the full story here.

• St. Petersburg-based Jabil promoted a new chief information officer and senior vice president. May Yap will be taking on the role held by Gary Cantrell, who is retiring. Yap has been with Jabil since 2014 and previously worked at IBM and PwC Consulting. 

• BlueGrace Logistics announced Azad Ratzki joined the company as chief technology officer. Ratzki is the co-founder of Tampa-based SiteZeus and was the previous CTO for Berkeley-based Mapistry. 

• Blockchain organization BlockSpaces announced James Olson, former senior VP of sales and business Development for AgileThoughthas been appointed to its board of directors. Olson joins newly appointed board chair Gregory Pierce. Pierce was the co-founder of Concerto Cloud Services and former chief cloud officer at Virginia-based DXC Technology

• St. Petersburg-based Caseglide, a provider of claims litigation management software, appointed Russ Smith as its new chief technology officer. Smith recently worked as Global Safety Management's senior vice president of technology and spent almost 20 years at Tribridge and later DXC Technology as the director of custom software development.
