The Synapse Summit in Tampa managed to squeeze in plenty of panels, networking, keynote speakers and over 5,600 attendees for its 2022 conference, its fifth year.
But among all the content were hundreds of startups from across the state — and some from the other side of the nation. Tampa Bay Inno has the local standouts that caught our attention.

What they do: A virtual digital agency that creates immersive experiences within the metaverse, including meet and greets, events, classes and birthday parties.
Based: Lakeland
What they do: The company is part of Catapult, the Lakeland-based incubator. It offers a "smart ticket" system through blockchain, allowing event attendees to get the benefits while cutting down on fraud, through QR codes, pre- and post-event benefits and the ability to share tickets with friends.

What they do: Converts gold and silver to turn to digital currency through blockchain.
Based: Wesley Chapel
What they do: The former Tampa Bay Wave company provides esports coaching, training and a development platform.
Based: Bend, Oregon, with a strong presence in Tampa
What they do: Provides virtual reality services to schools, enterprises, businesses and government agencies to aid in education and training.
Based: Lakeland
What they do: Offers tailored cybersecurity services to fit the need of each business with a focus on small and midsize companies. It is a member of the Lakeland-based incubator Catapult.
