On Tuesday, several startups from Tampa Bay will be headed to Memphis to compete for the 2019 Startup of the Year, powered by Established and Start.co.

The Startup of the Year team searches for the 100 most innovative early-stage technology startups from around the world and brings them together for their annual summit. Out of 100 startups, Tampa Bay will have a disproportionate representation with eight startups competing:

  1. 180byTwo: Delivering data-driven, audience solutions by bringing together technology, analytics, expertise, and strategy to help transform clients' marketing programs
  2. Fruutfull: Reinventing the bra, beginning with a strapless version to complement contemporary clothing styles.
  3. Grifin: A patent-pending technology that lets you automatically buy stock where you shop.
  4. GuestBox: Curated, branded boxes of high-end and eco-conscious products for the hospitality industry.
  5. Immertec: Real-time 3D VR communications platform that allows professionals to seamlessly train, consult, and observe any time, anywhere.
  6. Professional Credentials Exchange: Creating a digital marketplace for exchanging verified professional credentials
  7. Verapy: Creating a fun and enhanced patient experience within conventional therapy settings, increasing patient retention and compliance
  8. (Honorable Tampa Bay Status) NeuroFlow*: HIPAA-compliant cloud-based platform that empowers health care providers to objectively track, assess, and engage patients using evidence-based practices to support their mental health.

*While not based in Tampa Bay, NeuroFlow took part in the Tampa Bay Wave's TechDiversity cohort - so we'll give them honorary status.

The winner of Startup of the Year is eligible for up to $100,000 in investment. Last year, Tampa Bay-based PikMyKid and Knack both competed in Startup of the Year. Knack earned a Top 15 Honorable Mention.

Best of luck to our region's competitors - excited for you to represent the growth and strength of Tampa Bay!
