Tampa-based CoAction Security has launched its cybersecurity and compliance services company.
The firm will cater to small and midsize businesses with a focus on industries that tend to be regulated, such as health care, financial services, and legal, as well as companies required to be Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliant.
CoAction Security delivers specialized protection against potential threats to each industry’s privacy, finances, and public reputation, according to the release.
The company is led by founder and CEO Jacob “Jake” Wattam, whose career has spanned from management consulting in cybersecurity and compliance to risk management at a national managed service provider and beyond, the company said. He has led both highly technical and advisory teams, it said.
“As cyber threats become more sophisticated and regulatory landscapes more complex, partnering with a specialized cybersecurity compliance company becomes not just beneficial, but essential,” said Wattam in the release.
Wattam holds several industry certifications, including multiple Microsoft certifications, the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and the OffSec Certified Professional (OSCP), considered to be more technical than other ethical hacking certifications and one of the few requiring evidence of practical penetration testing skills.
CoAction Security works directly with businesses and partners with MSPs and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs), offering their clients an additional layer of security.
