Educational platform MaxU, based in Tampa, has launched an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot designed to help young athletes with their mental health performance.
"Maxwell" will give adolescent athletes instant and science-backed responses and content to help them on and off the field, a release said.
Brian Kornfeld, part of the founding team behind the Synapse event in Tampa, and co-founder Dan Greco started MaxU.
“Maxwell transcends the role of a traditional chatbot; it is a game-changer in the realm of mental performance for sports,” said Greco in the release. “Our objective is to provide a comprehensive, safe, and effective solution that aids athletes in navigating pressure situations, recovering from setbacks, and excelling in all facets of life.”
No financial details were disclosed on the cost of creating Maxwell.
Users will face multiple-choice questions through Maxwell, to avoid risks associated with open-ended responses. Here are some examples:
- Since we last met, have you felt successful in achieving your goals?
- Since we last met, have you been spending more time alone or with your friends?
- Since we last met, have you felt stuck in your routine?
- Since we last met, how often did you feel overwhelmed?
- Since we last met, how did you prepare for a big game or test?
MaxU was designed to help young athletes improve their mental health, and Maxwell is one part of that, the company said. The chatbot is live on the MaxU platform now.
