The University of South Florida’s entrepreneur center has a new leader.
The USF Nault Center for Entrepreneurship named Allen Clary its executive director on Feb. 1. Andy Hafer, the previous executive director, announced in October 2023 that he’d be stepping down.
Clary transitioned into the role immediately, with support from Hafer, and seeks to continue establishing a name for the program and in the community.
“I have huge shoes to fill after Andy’s leadership, so I’m excited to kick off new initiatives and priorities to bring the Nault Center to new heights,” Clary said in a statement.
Clary has a history of entrepreneurship. He holds a master’s in business administration from USF and has been on the board of the Nault Center for more than a decade. He is an adjunct professor at USF and teaches entrepreneurship.
During his time teaching, he has worked with the Tampa Bay Wave accelerator for five years and has helped companies raise more than $20 million in capital, according to a release.
He also founded an organizational platform called Jibidee at 37 years old.
Hafer, who served in the role for roughly two years, never intended to remain as the leader. He now plans to focus on his teaching.
