Clearwater tech-focused research firm hires new C-level officer

Clearwater-based research firm Economic Impact Catalyst has hired a new chief strategy officer.

The Economic Impact Catalyst is a firm that works with development entities to offer managing, consulting and market research services focusing on tech-enabled, entrepreneurial pursuits. It works with over 100 economic development councils across 27 states and has been developing regionally since 2018. Kim Vogel will join the company as chief strategy officer and work from the Clearwater headquarters.

“Economic Impact Catalyst’s mission in supporting entrepreneurship-led economic development is core to my professional experience and vital to the health and growth of every community,” Vogel said in a statement. “To be part of this dynamic team is a full circle experience that I am honored to join.”

She is a longtime St. Petersburg leader with more than 15 years of experience in various leadership positions, including as the vice president of entrepreneurial advancement and business growth of the St. Petersburg Area Economic Development Corp. 

Vogel will handle the firm’s growth strategies and development, according to a release.

The company opened its first headquarters in May, with plans to grow its employee count and expand its footprint in the Tampa Bay region, according to previous reporting.
