March roundup: All the C-level hires in Tampa Bay's tech scene

Eight Tampa Bay tech companies bolstered their C-suite in March.

The Tampa Bay tech scene ended Q1 with plenty of C-level hires throughout March. We've rounded up any of the promotions you may have missed below.

  • Deepwatch tapped Mel Wesley as its CFO, who has helped usher companies to multimillion-dollar exits over the last 18 years. He previously served as CFO of Virginia-based PhishMe, which was acquired for $400 million in 2018.

  • Tampa-based BlueCloud hired Akin Uslu as the company’s first chief delivery officer, where he will focus on the company's global delivery and focus on increasing shareholder value. He was a former global corporate strategy lead for Amazon Web Services.

  • Sarasota-based AeroVanti hired Paolo Ferreri as interim COO. However, AeroVanti CEO Patrick Britton-Harr said in a statement that both parties hope Ferreri will eventually become the full-time COO.

  • German company TeamViewer, which has its U.S. headquarters in Clearwater, tapped Georg Beyschlag as president of TeamViewer Americas. Beyschlag previously served as the company's chief of staff and strategy and was integral in helping the company go public in 2019.

  • Tampa-based telehealth company, AccelEQ, announced it hired Steve Ponce as its co-founder and chief product officer. Ponce has spent 18 years working at Tampa General Hospital, most recently as an IT manager. Get the story.

  • Tampa-based iShared Transportation, a logistics and digital freight tech company, hired Kyle Ingraham as the new chief sales officer. He previously served as president of Tampa-based AFC Logistics. 
  • Brian Kornfeld, who co-founded Synapse Florida and its eponymous Synapse Summit, will be leaving the nonprofit on April 30. Chief Strategy Officer Lauren Prager will take over Kornfeld’s role. Get the story

  • St. Petersburg-based Squaremouth, a travel insurtech company, hired Rupa Mehta as its CEO. She will replace Jessica Burns, who had been with the company since 2010 and served in the CEO spot since 2019. No word on Burns’ next move. Squaremouth was recently acquired.
