The latest crop of cybersecurity companies on the rise will soon be landing in Tampa Bay.

The Tampa Bay Wave's second CyberTech|X Accelerator program cohort was announced Wednesday, which includes 15 companies from across the globe.

The cohort was formed in 2020 and launched its first class in 2021 to help cybersecurity startups gain access to mentoring, sales training, investor introductions, pitch coaching and more. It has backing from a number of local cybersecurity heavy hitters including A-LIGN, KnowBe4 and a $100,000 donation from ConnectWise founder, Arnie Bellini and his wife, Lauren Bellini.

The three-month program will culminate in a Demo Day April 6 where the companies will pitch to a group of accredited investors. According to the Wave, roughly half of the previous cohort closed their funding rounds within six months of Demo Day, with two companies getting acquired entirely.

"People across the country are finally recognizing what those of us in Florida already know, which is that our technology and startup ecosystems have been experiencing tremendous growth over the past five to 10 years, including in sectors like cybersecurity," Tampa Bay Wave President and founder Linda Olson said in a statement. "As cybersecurity threats continue to rise, programs like the CyberTech|X Accelerator can go a long way to address these growing security concerns, while showcasing Tampa Bay’s tech and cybersecurity talent."
