A Tampa-based startup that has seen huge growth since the Covid-19 pandemic has now caught the attention of Forbes.

Homee, the Tampa-based company that offers home repair on-demand, has been tapped as the top startup employer in the state, according to Forbes' latest list.

It is No. 88 on the overall list. Forbes had partnered with market research company Statista for its second annual list, which evaluated 2,500 U.S. companies with 50 or more employees. Each company was evaluated on its reputation, growth and employee satisfaction.

Homee has seen a surge in recent growth over the last year. The company’s most recent funding was for $4.5 million in July, bringing the total to $34.5 million. With many people staying home, home repair has soared, and Homee has reaped the benefits. It is also on our 21 Startups to Watch in 2021 list. The company is currently in at least 35 states and more than 100 metros.

It was previously No. 10 on Forbes' 2020 Best Startup Employers list.

"I think we made the list because of our growth as a company, our ability," Doug Schaedler, CEO and co-founder of Homee, said in a previous interview. "A lot of our programs are team ones, so we get very heavy interaction with the group. It's a great, exciting place to work — [with our office], it's a nice layout for everyone and people love coming to work."

Other Floridian companies including Orlando's FattMerchant, coming in at No. 129, and Palm Springs-based MyEyeLab, which landed at No. 282. The No. 1 company on the overall list was Seattle-based Hiya, which provides business products and software services.

Forbes has been paying attention to the Tampa Bay region for quite some time. Most recently, it chose three local founders for the company's inaugural 'Forbes Next 1000' list, which identifies startups to watch across the nation.
