Stetson University is hosting a virtual "Entrepreneur Thursdays" speaker series to further help young founders.
The series, which kicked off Sept. 3, will have a weekly speaker from a well-known company speak virtually to both Stetson students and the general Tampa Bay region. This is the third year of the series and the first year it has turned virtual. It will run until Oct. 22 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. each Thursday.
The upcoming speaker will be Brian Scudamore, founder and CEO of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? on Oct. 1. Stetson officials stated the series is in the process of determining the other speakers. Past speakers in this year's series include Allyne Ettner, a change management consultant at Atlanta-based Interface, and Eugenio Rodriguez, who heads the innovation division at wine and spirits company Diageo.
It is part of the university's Joseph C. Prince Entrepreneurship Program at the School of Business Administration. It is one of several entrepreneurial offerings in the region: University of South Florida's Muma College of Business and University of Tampa are both offering free business classes on how to pivot during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stetson University is based in DeLand and Stetson University College of Law is in Gulfport.
