A New York City startup has recently closed its latest funding round and is now set to move to the Sunshine State.
Simplenight, a B2B platform that lets users search and book travel related from one site, has closed a Series A round. Tampa-based Florida Funders participated in the round for an undisclosed amount.
While the company did not state how much the Series A was, Simplenight has raised $11.6 million to date.
“It used to be innovative to be able to book flights and hotels online, then it became about being able to book more things while on your phone," Mark Halberstein, CEO and founder of Simplenight, said in a statement. "Now, we believe the next shift is about being able to book any experience, anywhere, whether on your favorite websites, on any of your devices, or even while sitting on a plane or in a car."
The company will be opening its headquarters in Miami next month, becoming the latest of several startups that have either relocated or expanded to Florida after an investment from Florida Funders.
In April, the group invested undisclosed amounts for Minneapolis-based rideshare technology company Vugo, that will relocate to Florida in an undisclosed city. That same month, Florida Funders gave an undisclosed amount to Canadian company Vizetto, which will open an office in Florida.
Florida Funders also participated in a $10 million round for wellness technology company Peerfit in early 2020 and a $3.5 million round for Tampa-based medtech startup Professional Credentials Exchange.
