On March 5th, Tampa Bay Inno will host its first State of Innovation meetup at The Attic (500 E Kennedy Blvd #400).

Across the Inno network, our State of Innovation meetups focus on a specific industry, category or topic that's impacting the region's ecosystem, exploring sectors that are experience unique, explosive growth in the area, analyzing trends that are positively or negatively affecting local companies' ability and much more.

For March, we're going to start off by architecting the event around one of Tampa Bay's strongest tech categories - EdTech. (In its inaugural Startup Report, Tampa Bay Wave and Startup Genome identified EdTech as one of the region's top three tech verticals).

The meetup will lead with a panel discussion featuring founders and executives from the region's top edtech startups, including Script, Knack and PikMyKid. We'll hear about the problems the panelists are tackling and discuss why the Tampa Bay region is positioned to excel in the arena.

State of Innovation Panel: EdTech

  • Samyr Qureshi, Co-Founder & CEO, Knack
  • Aaron White - Co-Founder & CEO, Script
  • Pat Bhava, Co-Founder & CEO, PikMyKid
  • Lauren Coffey, Tampa Bay Inno - Moderator

Following the panel, we'll transition to spotlighting student innovation, with brief presentations from several amazing student-run startups. (More panelists and presenters to be announced shortly).

Also, because this will be our first meetup, we'll open it with a little more information on us and field any questions from the audience. So, if you're looking to learn more about Inno, one of the local innovation economy's strengths (and why), or you're just looking to learn and be inspired - sign up for the event here. Food and drink will be provided.

Who Should Come:

  • Startup Founders and Employees
  • Entrepreneurs
  • Venture Capitalists
  • Stakeholders in the Startup and Innovation Community
  • People Curious About the Region's Fast-Growing Startup and Tech Communities
  • Anyone Interested in Great Discussion
