2020 funding for Tampa Bay startups is ending on a high note.

The latest is a $3.6 million investment into Tampa-based marketing tech firm SiteWit, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company raised the funding from Florida Funders and an unnamed investor. This follows $5.5 million raised in August 2020 — $2.6 million was raised in debt funding and $2.9 million was raised in equity funding. The company has raised a total of $14.2 million since 2013.

SiteWit may be best known for its product, Kliken, which helps users gain new customers through custom marketing campaigns. It was founded in 2010.

The investment ended a solid year of funding for the Tampa Bay region, despite the novel coronavirus pandemic. According to SEC reports, the region raised more than $440 million in 2020. The other funding win in December in the region was for Morphogenesis, a Tampa-based biotech firm. It raised $2.6 million from 24 investors.
