IT staffing firm Envision brings a win-win strategy to clients and consultants

Investing in IT submitted
Envision’s approach to recruiting and retaining best-in-class professionals is founded in the company’s understanding of the IT world’s evolving needs.

The IT industry has long been one of the most fertile industries in the nation, and it’s a trend that doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. From startups to Fortune 500s, businesses have an increasingly high need for qualified IT professionals. The demand, however, exceeds the available talent.

That’s where Envision shines. An IT staffing firm offering contract, right-to-hire, and direct hire placement services, the team is known for matching the right person with the position that fits both their technical and cultural needs.

“Employers are competing fiercely within a limited pool of talent, specifically those with proven experience in technologies like cloud, cybersecurity, category management, data analytics, .NET and Java,” says Steve Lowy, chairman of Envision. “At the same time, IT professionals are looking beyond fair compensation and good benefits packages when considering their employment opportunities. They also want interesting, challenging positions with a good work-life balance, personal fulfillment, and the flexibility to work remotely.”

Strategy secrets

Envision’s approach to recruiting and retaining best-in-class professionals is founded in the company’s understanding of the IT world’s evolving needs.

“We provide our clients with access to candidates who would be otherwise unavailable to them. We bear the burden of testing, screening, assessing soft skills, and negotiating personal and benefits issues,” says Lowy. “By doing the heavy lifting and serving as a conduit between these two groups, we allow clients and candidates to focus on what they do best.”

Amid the fluidity of the IT marketplace, Envision also enables an element of flexibility. As a client’s needs change, the firm helps them right-size the number of needed consultants. Six-month terms allow employers and consultants to “test the waters” of their working relationships, avoiding the high costs of hiring mistakes down the road.

History of success

After Envision’s founding in 1983 as a computer services firm, Lowy purchased the company in 1994 and has since tripled its sales and number of employees, as well as added a second office in Phoenix.

With a strategic eye for mergers and acquisitions, Lowy has expanded the company’s scope of web-enabling business applications such as order entry, inventory control, supply chain management, customer relationship management, logistics, and data warehousing. Today, the agency has nearly 300 employees across 23 states.

“We encourage an entrepreneurial mindset on our team,” says Lowy. “We want to empower employees with the skills and training they need to take ownership over the success of their career and of the company as a whole. A variety of work allows IT contractors to keep growing and being challenged, which leads to overall career satisfaction.” A culture of integrity, honesty and communication guides not only Envision’s internal team, but also permeates into the firm’s relationships. “Happy employees lead to happy clients and consultants,” Lowy concludes.
