Tcare Inc., a St. Louis-based startup that provides technology to help family caregivers, has named Lindsey Niemeier as president.

Niemeier’s role is a newly created position at Tcare and marks a promotion from her previous role as the firm’s chief strategy officer. Niemeier has worked at Tcare, which has grown rapidly in recent years as it’s raised millions in venture funding, since 2022.

"Lindsey's multifaceted expertise and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in driving Tcare’s growth and impact. In her new role, Lindsey will continue to lead with a growth-first mindset, leveraging her proven ability to scale the business, challenge boundaries and inspire our team to achieve new heights,” said Ali Ahmadi, Tcare’s chairman and CEO.

Tcare, which was spun out of research from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, provides an evidence-based analytics program that allows social workers, care managers and care coordinators to help family members and caregivers responsible for seniors and other family members requiring assistance. Tcare’s technology is used by managed care organizations, long-term care insurance providers, employers and social service agencies. It’s designed to help its users reduce long-term caregiver burnout and limit the need to turn to alternative care options such as nursing homes and hospital stays.

As Tcare’s president, Neimeier will manage the firm’s day-to-day operations, with oversight over strategic initiatives and growth and innovation efforts. Ahmadi, as Tcare’s CEO, will oversee its overall growth strategy, chief financial officer functions, corporate development and strategic partnerships.

"I am deeply honored and humbled to accept the position of President at Tcare,” Neiemer said in a statement. “I am excited to continue to work closely with our incredibly talented, and growing, team to drive innovation, deliver exceptional value to our customers, and propel Tcare to new levels of success.”

Tcare, initially based in Wisconsin, relocated to St. Louis in 2019 after winning funding from local nonprofit startup funder Arch Grants. Tcare has 168 full-time employees, up from four full-time employees when it relocated to St. Louis. Tcare’s headcount includes 33 employees based in St. Louis.

Tcare in September 2022 closed on a $17 million Series A funding round led by New York-based American Family Ventures. Other investors in the deal included St. Louis-based SixThirty Ventures, Ziegler Link-age Funds, Unum Ventures, Inception Health, Sompo Holdings and Plug & Play Ventures, Aflac Ventures, Blu Ventures, 25madison and Connetic Ventures.
