Veho, a New York-based startup that provides shipping and logistics services for e-commerce retailers, has expanded to St. Louis by opening a local warehouse facility.

The venture-backed company said Tuesday it has launched its warehouse in St. Louis as part of an expansion strategy in the Midwest. In addition to St. Louis, Veho said Tuesday it has a new facility in Cincinnati and plans to expand this fall to Cleveland. It already has distribution facilities in Chicago, Indianapolis and Milwaukee.

“As we continue to scale our premium customer experience across the U.S., doubling down on our growing Midwest customers and partners was a natural next step. We continue to focus on expanding our footprint in areas where our clients see the most value and are looking forward to bringing a new, customer-first delivery experience to the Midwest,” said Itamar Zur, co-founder and CEO of Veho.

Founded in 2016, Veho provides next-day delivery and item return services for e-commerce companies. It delivers items through crowdsourced drivers and has developed technology it says makes it easier for consumers to track their items as they are delivered. Since its launch, Veho has raised $300 million in venture funding, most recently closing a $170 million Series B financing that values the company at more than $1.5 billion.

Veho’s expansion into St. Louis includes opening a 58,000-square-foot distribution facility. A spokeswoman for the company said she didn’t have details on the location of the new facility. The company is currently hiring in St. Louis, the spokeswoman said. Veho’s website lists open roles in St. Louis for supervisor for ground operations and warehouse associate for ground operations. Across its Midwest operations, Veho says it plans to hire more than 100 full-time employees by the end of 2023.

“We couldn’t be more excited about our Midwest expansion. In addition to bringing Veho’s best-in-class customer experience to the region, our five Midwest facilities will provide excellent full-time jobs, as well as convenient and flexible work opportunities for driver-partners,” said Matt Neururer, general manager of Veho Midwest.

Veho said its expansion into St. Louis, Cincinnati and Cleveland will give it operations in 22 U.S. cities.
